Pause and Meditate

Meditation doesn’t mean being spiritual. It is training your brain to remain calm during chaos and rise above the noise so you can slow down and make effective decisions. We all have busy lives that can get chaotic and emergencies happen. The question is whether you can stay calm and collected so you can make solid decisions vs. reacting and making bad decisions.

A 10-year McKinsey and Co. study on flow and productivity found top executives 500% more productive when in flow.

Psychologists at the University of North Carolina found that even four days of meditation significantly improved both creativity and cognitive flexibility.

“If you don’t have 20 minutes, you need two hours. Everyone should re-boot their brain every day.” — Russell Simmons

Marc Benioff, billionaire founder of SalesForce, recommends meditation to all aspiring entrepreneurs and meditates every morning himself before work. His practice started after he received a piece of advice from Steve Jobs to “be mindful and project the future.”

Ray Dalio, billionaire founder of Bridgewater Associates (largest hedge fund in the world) said, “I did it because it’s the greatest gift I could give anyone — it brings about equanimity, creativity and peace.”
